Cranberry Kale Smoothie

I don’t often have smoothies in the winter but the ginger in this blend adds that warming touch our bodies need on cold days. Eating ginger is a great way to boost your immune system, which is especially important during this time of year. It’s also excellent for digestive function and helps with nausea and indigestion, which can be useful for times when you overindulge! 😉

Recipe:
Cranberry Kale Smoothie

Ingredients:
4 cups kale
1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
1 orange
1/2-inch piece of ginger
1 banana (start with half to make sure it doesn’t overpower the other flavours)
1 tbsp hemp hearts
1 tbsp coconut oil
3/4 cup coconut water

Blend all ingredients. Add more water if you find it too thick.

If you like a smoother texture, you can try using cranberry juice instead of whole cranberries but make sure it’s 100% pure cranberry juice.
